Our South Asian women’s community

The story of Arizona’s South Asian women’s community.

Look closely at the Indian women around you and you'll see it: the engineer who meal-preps for a family of five and still made VP. The founder who launched her business between school pickups. The newcomer who rebuilt her entire life in a country she'd never visited — and did it with grace.

A room where ambition isn't something to apologize for. Where “too much” is just right.

This is not a coincidence. It's a culture.

We were raised by women who treated education as sacred — often the first in their families to insist a daughter study as hard as a son. We grew up watching resilience modeled daily: mothers who managed households like enterprises, grandmothers whose quiet endurance held generations together. We inherited high standards, deep discipline, and a work ethic the world now pays a premium for.

But here's the part nobody talks about: we were also taught to make ourselves small. To serve first. To want quietly, if at all.

NAARI exists for the second half of that story — the part where the resilient woman stops apologizing for her ambition. Where the values that made us strong become the foundation for everything we dare to build next.

Our culture taught us to endure. Our sisterhood teaches us to rise.

Our mission

Empower women. Build community.

NAARI exists so that no ambitious Indian woman ever has to rise alone. We connect women across cities and life stages — for careers, businesses, well-being, friendships, and the kind of belonging that turns a place into a home.

Our vision

Dream bigger.

A world where every Indian woman has the network, the knowledge, and the sisterhood to dream bigger — and a community cheering her on as she gets there.

Our story

So she built the room.

Sejal Chaturvedi, founder and CEO of NAARI

NAARI began the way the best things do: around a table, over chai, with a simple observation.

Sejal Chaturvedi — a Senior Program Manager leading $20M+ enterprise portfolios, an MBA, and a founder at heart — kept meeting brilliant Indian women who were building careers, raising families, and dreaming bigger, all while quietly wishing for their people. A room where ambition wasn't something to apologize for. Where "too much" was just right.

So she built the room.

What started as a small circle of friends in Arizona is now 1,800+ members strong in our first year — professionals, founders, artists, mothers, newcomers — as we develop our national expansion model through partnerships, ambassadors and future chapter pilots. And we're just getting started.

A letter from our founder

Dear Sister,

If you're reading this, something in you is looking for your people. I know that feeling — because I've lived it.

Through my career — boardrooms, deadlines, diapers, dreams — I kept meeting brilliant Indian women doing it all: running companies, running households, running on three hours of sleep. We were raised to be resilient. Nobody taught us we were allowed to want more — or that wanting more didn't have to be a solo climb.

So I started NAARI around a table, with a handful of women who felt the same pull: we were tired of being the only ones in the room who got it. That was one year ago. Today, we are 1,800+ members strong in our first year.

NAARI is my love letter to every Indian woman who was told to dream quietly. Here, we dream out loud — together. We build careers and businesses. We take care of our health and our hearts. We celebrate the culture that raised us — loudly, proudly, no translation needed. And we never, ever rise alone.

This sisterhood changed my life. Fair warning: it might just change yours too.

Come for the chai. Stay for the sisterhood.

With all my heart,
Sejal Chaturvedi
Founder & CEO, NAARI

What holds us together

NAARI isn't a network you join. It's a sisterhood you belong to. What brings us closer isn't a shared industry or city — it's a shared heart.

Trust.

What's shared in the sisterhood stays in the sisterhood. This is a room where you can say the real thing.

Shared values.

Ambition with heart. We build careers and businesses, and we lift as we climb — no one rises alone.

Our roots.

We celebrate the culture that raised us — loudly, proudly, no translation needed.

Showing up.

For the wins, the worries, and everything in between. Sisterhood is a verb here.
